NOTTINGHAM RFC EYES UP THE 2010/2011 SEASON
With the 2010/2011 RFU Championship now underway, Nottingham RFC is setting its sights on a successful season with a new element to the training programme – sport vision.
Following in the footsteps of the winning England World Cup Rugby team in 2003, which used vision training in the run up to the competition, Nottingham’s Green & Whites are working with specialist sport vision optometrists, Gavin Rebello, Edward Lyons and Michelle Beach, to examine how efficiently players’ eyes are working in relation to the game of rugby.
Fly Half/full back Cesar Sempere(pictured) thought his vision could not be improved - he was amazed to notice how much quicker his focussing could be after new contact lenses were fitted by the sports-vision specialists. Especially floodlit games. First game in contacts - TRY scored.
